Buy a share in “The Penhow Village Shop Limited”, a non-profit organisation, and become a member to demonstrate your commitment to the presence of the shop in the community. The shares do not carry any right to interest, dividend, discount or bonus. Each share will give the owner an equal say in the running of the Shop through the AGM. A member may only hold one share with the liability of a member limited to the £5 initial payment. With the exception of lifetime members and volunteer members active in the Shop there is a £5 fee to renew annual membership. The Share will lapse if annual members do not renew their membership before the AGM.
The constitution of PVS requires that it is managed by a committee of Members elected by fellow Members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Membership is an important status in PVS as only members can be elected to the Management Committee which has responsibility for the day to day running of the business. Most of the members have been with us from the start and many have been active in the running of the business but as time moves on a new generation of members and volunteers are necessary to ensure the future of the Shop. To apply for membership complete the Membership Application form and return to the Company Secretary (details on the form) together with the appropriate fee. Members are accepted at the discretion of the Management Committee and acceptance will be confirmed in writing.
- Volunteers: £5 for the share and the annual membership of the Penhow Village Shop Association fee is waived.
- Non-Volunteers: £5 for the share and £5 for the annual membership of the Penhow Village Shop Association
